Not Krampus, Just Satan

If you haven’t heard of Krampus before (despite the horror/comedy movie “Krampus” just released on December 4th by Universal) then you might

not know that in many parts of Europe, while Santa gave presents to good children – his dark helper dealt with the bad ones, whipping them or even dragging them off to hell.

This darker side of the Santa story has many names in different places, but in Austria and southern Germany, the name was Krampus.  As a child, you hoped you were good enough to be visited by Santa instead.

But the reality is that Santa himself has a very dark side if we evaluate his true nature.  Even Dana Carvey’s Church Lady character saw the similarities to Satan.  Click on the image below for a Santa/Satan video:
